Reacher Season 2 tony swan dead die traitor finale fate

Many viewers of Reacher Season 2 found themselves intrigued about the fate of Tony Swan in the series. Was he a traitor and did he die? Here’s all you need to know.

Did Tony Swan die in the Reacher Season 2 finale?

Yes, Tony Swan was revealed to be dead in the Reacher Season 2 finale.

Season 2 built a mystery about Tony Swan’s present-day whereabouts. Jack Reacher’s entire team was either confirmed to have died or had joined with him in the present day. Swan was the only character who didn’t return in the present day, and many expected him to show up in the final episode, “Fly Boy.” But that didn’t happen as Langston revealed how Swan had been another one of his victims.

Avid TV and movie watchers would know that in most cases a character isn’t dead until we see their body. While a body wasn’t shown, Langston did reveal Swan’s severed finger and eye, which was enough to deduce that Swan had been killed in the show.

Is Tony Swan a traitor in Reacher Season 2?

No, Tony Swan wasn’t a traitor in Reacher Season 2.

While the other members of the 110th did start to believe that Swan had turned after joining New Age, Reacher always maintained the notion that “in an investigation, assumptions kill!” He wasn’t willing to believe that the Tony Swan that he recruited in his Special Investigations Unit was corrupt. Then in episode 6, Marlo Burns also confirmed that he wasn’t dirty. Instead, he was the one who tried to stop Little Wing.

In the finale, Langston elaborated that when Swan found out about what New Age was planning to do with Little Wing, he became a big hiccup in the antagonist’s plans. He called in Sanchez, Orozco, and Franz to stop Langston. But that got them all killed. Then Langston preserved Swan’s finger and his eye for authorization purposes so he could use him as a scapegoat while retiring with $65 million.

So, Reacher was right all along. Swan wasn’t a traitor and deserves huge credit for preventing Little Wing from falling into the wrong hands.
